Hancock Hall offers long and short term residents a complete and comprehensive range of nursing, social and rehabilitative services. We are very proud to offer a full continuum of care that meets the varied needs of our short and long term patients.
We are supervised by Dr. Daniel E. Wollman, MD, Ph.D. He works closely with our health services division to ensure the highest quality of medical care is provided to all of our Hancock Hall residents. Dr. Wollman is also a faculty member and lecturer for the Frank M. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. He completed his undergraduate, graduate, and medical training at the University of Pennsylvania and is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Hospice and Palliative Care.
Filosa Care Center, d.b.a. HANCOCK HALL licensed as an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). At this time, Hancock Hall was the only free-standing ICF in Fairfield County, CT. Intermediate Care Facilities were the precursors to Assisted Living Facilities.

Hancock Hall begins to transition from an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) to a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) participating in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Hancock Hall expands with new construction to accommodate up to 96 residents; adding on additional large, private rooms, common areas, and outdoor gardens.
Short-term Rehabilitation program developed; identifying a separate, distinct nursing 19-bed unit for sub-acute patients.
Medicare Five-Star Rating system initiated nationwide for Skilled Nursing Facilities. Since its inception in 2008, Hancock Hall has been continually rated the highest Five (5) Stars for Overall Quality.
Hancock Hall named a preferred provider of the Western Connecticut Health Network (now Nuvance Health).

Unlike assisted living communities and retirement communities, we offer comprehensive skilled nursing care 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Our staff offers a wide range of medical care and basic help with normal day-to-day tasks.

At this time, Hancock Hall only offers senior care services in our physical location. However, we do offer respite care for family caregivers that need extra support.
